![]() ![]() I’ve had my current MacBook Pro for 11 years, and it STILL going faster than any PC I’ve ever had for this. Even with tweaking in the BIOS, it doesn’t run the way I want. I’ve rarely had a PC that could handle most things I do. Hopefully this rant will help someone else having the same issue.Īre you telling me that my mid-2012 MacBook Pro is STILL running circles around current Gen PCs? Wow….that’s kinda….sad, but neat.Īnyways, Serato Video really doesn’t run well on ANY PC I’ve thrown it at. This is seriously disappointing, considering how well the rest of the software works, especially with my DDJ-SX. No dropped frames, and an average FPS between 30-50 (video is only about 30 constant according to Handbrake). h264 to h264 (NVENC, I was fed up with the time spent and wanted the quicker option), AAC audio passthrough, framerate "Same as Source." The resulting file was 215MB. I was finally able to fix the issue (if you can call it that) by re-encoding the video in Handbrake, but with the Fast Decode box checked. Same issue.įrom what I've gathered, Serato only utilizes the CPU for video encoding/decoding, not any dedicated GPUs. I tried everything I could think of, including busting out an external GPU with a desktop Nvidia 1660Ti. Nothing I did seemed to fix it, despite trying to Google the issue. Framerate (via the debug option) averaged around 7-10. ![]() The video itself is h264 encoded, with AAC audio. The test video was a YouTube rip of Porter Robinson's Shelter video (about 58MB). For reference, I'm using a Razer Blade Stealth 2020, (4-Core/8-Thread 10th Gen Intel and an Nvidia 1650Ti Mobile GPU, definitely within the minimum spec they require). Hopefully something more concrete and certain will materialise in due course.I spent the last few hours playing with Serato video, and all I can say is that I'm disappointed. Inklen and Serato do have an uneasy alliance, where Serato allows ME to work with Scratch Live, and I guess may well continue to do so.Īs for working with Serato DJ, well Nick from Inklen continues to talk to Serato, and while nothing concrete has been announced, this thread sheds some light on the subject. Mi圎mergency has always pitched itself as a video plugin for Scratch Live, but with that particular iconic software effectively mothballed, it’ll be interesting to see if ME has a future in the new era of Serato DJ. Fixed a bug that could cause certain MIDI messages to be lost.Fixed an audio recording issue that could cause recording to stop for some users.Added notifications for FX Sequencer presets.Improved the rendering pipeline to allow effect plug-ins to access image data from both channels.Fixed an issue where some controls on the main Mi圎mergency window would not respond (Mac OS X 10.9).Fixed output screen positioning issues (Mac OS X 10.9).Mi圎mergency 2.3 is a free upgrade for users who have purchased a Mi圎mergency 2 license. Mi圎mergency 1 users are still eligible to upgrade to Mi圎mergency 2 for only $99 USD. To celebrate the release of Mi圎mergency 2.3, and 5 years of Mi圎mergency, we’re having our first ever sale – get 30% off all purchases until the 16th of November 2013. Here’s what Inklen have to say: Mi圎mergency 2.3 for $139 USD ME has reached the venerable age of 5, and with the release of Mi圎mergency 2.3 comes their first ever sale, with a bumper 30% off. While Serato has more or less stopped Scratch Live in its tracks, Inklen’s video package Mi圎mergency continues on its path to become the only video plugin worth bothering with. ![]()
